Internet Technology Manager
Major Function–Infrastructure, hardware, and software support
Reports to: Principal, Director of Operations
Technology has necessarily become part of the routine educational landscape and, as such,
requires specific attention in the education setting to ensure meaningful integration as well as
ongoing maintenance of the infrastructure, hardware and software that supports said integration.
The IT Manager, then, is an education specialist who can actively support current technology
and plan for ongoing needs of the organization as well as support the purposeful use of said
technology to promote 21st century skills and access for Lakeside Charter students. The
responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Assesses the school’s technology needs on an annual basis and articulates needs for the
coming year.
- Maintains all databases (Google, PaperCut, Door System, etc.)
- Maintains infrastructure to support instructional needs, including through partnerships
with MCNC for infrastructure needs and device maintenance.
- Updates student/staff email accounts (Google Admin Console) for grades on an annual basis and sets security standards for use (Zscaler). Manages Papercut printing software on staff laptops.
- Manages ERATES documentation and ordering based on campus needs in conjunction with
The Principal and Operation Director.
- Recycles devices when they are removed from circulation/ age out.
- Prepares devices for testing/ installation of NC Test/ supports practice on this application.
- When applicable, completion of relevant competitive grants
- Assesses the school’s technology needs on an annual basis and articulates needs for the
coming year.
- Assists with the installation of technology-related equipment.
- Ensures the maintenance of technology-related equipment by monitoring performance and
conducting periodic preventative maintenance.
- Performs repair of technology-related equipment.
- Identifies hardware issues and works with vendors to repair items as needed.
- Installs upgrades to hardware and software.
- Prepares standard and specialized electronics devices for testing and troubleshooting
technology-related equipment.
- Maintain audio/visual equipment
- Organizes and maintains help desk area and technology-related equipment inventory.
- Maintains departmental documentation regarding inventory, issues, and other items as required.
Maintains databases for Google Admin console, PaperCut printing, Door Fob System, and any other database not listed or yet to be added
- Any additional technology concerns as needed by Lakeside Charter Academy
